Fierce Philanthropy exists to ignite funders and social impact organizations to turn generosity into measurable change.

We live in a time when hundreds of thousands of organizations are focused on solving social problems in our own communities and around the globe. Though many people only see a broken world, we see optimism in the eyes and hearts of the funders, employees, and volunteers of the best of these organizations. More importantly, we see optimism in their clients' eyes.

We Are Todd & Kristine Manwaring

We began focusing on solving social problems around us and around the world in 1997, when we disrupted our lives and jumped headfirst into the social impact world. You can see some details about us on LinkedIn: Todd, Kristine.

What you should know is that we care deeply about actually solving social problems. We are keenly interested in social impact organizations that focus on changing people's lives and understand whether they are achieving that. We want to steer more funds, by way of grants and impact investments, their way. The struggle? There's little support for funders to distinguish between poor organizations and exceptional ones. We want to change that.

Over the past 22 years, while Todd taught, studied, and interacted with social impact organizations, he developed a methodology to evaluate organizations based on their use of data to understand how effective their interventions are at solving the problems they address and to become learning organizations that become more effective over time. This methodology works both to evaluate organizations and to guide them on how to improve and be more effective in creating real impact.

On this website, you will find a growing list of vetted social impact organizations that meet our "changing-people's-lives" criteria. We accept donations on their behalf or encourage you to connect with them directly. With the assistance of our sponsors, 100% of your donations go to our vetted organizations.

In addition to this list, we also consult with both funders and social impact organizations to help them be more impactful in changing people's lives.
